Quiztime - 8th March 2022 - #STANDforUkraine
Last year, I read one of the blogs nixintel, which sparked my interest in OSINT, and a few months ago I started OSINT little by little.
Most of the questions are mainly about gathering and analyzing information (Geolocation) of given images, but sometimes it requires several hours of work with Archive and comparing different satellite images to verify the authenticity of the information.
This is the first edition of the OSINT Challenge, organized by Twitter user @quiztime.
The questions are as follows:
Verification is key - for everyone! Here @quiztime you can practice and strengthen your skills in #OSINT.

So here is your challenge:
At which station did I take this photo? pic.twitter.com/GE5HpXDSTt
"At which station was this photo taken?"
First, let's check each of the information that can be extracted from this photo.
1: U8
2: #STANDforUkraine
3: Yellow wall & tiles behind
4: German, judging from the text.
5: It is obvious that it is a route map
Analysis Result :
1: U8 is U-Bahn-Lie U8 (Berlin), which is the Berlin subway, so the route map can narrow down the location considerably.
2: #STANDforUkraine is related to the ongoing situation in Ukraine (https://standforukraine.com/) that is being shown on the news every day, and can be expected to be a very recent event.
3: In the meantime, I've looked at various Berlin metro lines with no response.

So first, I searched for "U8 station + yellow wall" for the wall behind.
Then, I found a list of walls with the name plate of U8 station embedded in them.
To narrow it down from here to Jannowitzbrücke, I narrowed it down on Google to "U8 Jannowitzbrücke" and found no corresponding area on Google Maps and Street View.
So I recall the hashtag #STANDforUkraine.
We explained earlier that this is a hashtag launched in response to the Russian invasion of Ukraine, and that we can see that it was only recently (the invasion of Ukraine started in 2014).
I couldn't find it in image format, so I went to Youtube and filtered the videos as being within a year and then went through the uploaded videos one by one. it took me about 30 minutes to find the next video. It takes about 30 minutes to find the following video, which shows that the target image and the yellow wall behind it can be seen roughly at around 0:40.
Answer: Berlin Jannowitzbrücke station
Location: 52.514271888769166, 13.419611974998881
Have a good OSINT Life!
