The question is: "What is the (current) story behind this logo?
I did an image search and found Stadt Köln.
Apparently, part of the logo that has been a symbol of Köln for many years is being erased.The reason for this is that they are trying to get rid of old customs that don't fit in with the modern world.Naturally, some people are against it, and the city is busy responding.
The two spire of Köln Cathedral have been removed, and the new logo has completely removed the tower and is all red. It seems to be an unacceptable fact for especially enthusiastic Catholics.
